Our middle school hybrid program is designed for students in 6th – 8th grade who enjoy a small learning climate, close social networks, and supportive teachers. This program offers challenging coursework in a relaxed, stress-reduced setting that is tailored to their current academic abilities. This program is geared to neurotypical students and/or students presenting with specific learning challenges such as dyslexia and dysgraphia.

Hybrid Programming (Core 4 Subjects)

Our Middle School program provides instruction in the "Core 4" (Ga-mandated) subjects, encompassing math, ELA, science, and social studies across two full days. We meticulously curate our student population during the admissions process, which guarantees not only seamless social and academic integration into our Academy Hybrid Programs, but also ensures academic compatibility within learning block cohorts.  Our carefully crafted schedule not only facilitates deep learning but also encourages the development of friendships and socialization. New concepts are instructed during class sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with reinforcement provided through two days of home study assignments on asynchronous days. Students can expect about 2 – 3 hours of home study on their 2 satellite days, leaving plenty of time for students to pursue other courses through the Weatherstone alliance or enjoy independent learning opportunities, sports, fine arts, and more!

Customized Course Progression

Our multi-aged learning environment allows students to progress through middle school courses at a pace that meets them where they are, without stigma. Upon acceptance into our program, students will be assessed to determine the most suitable placement within our academic course progression, specifically in ELA and Math. Flexible progression tracks (aka "Learning Opportunities") allow rigor-seeking students to enjoy advanced placement opportunties, while students with learning challenges or 'learning gaps' can boost skills, gain confidence, and rise to new challenges through a year of foundational support.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS PROGRESSIONS

The essence of any English Language Arts program is essentially for students to learn to read, write, compose, comprehend, inform, analyze, speak, and listen effectively. Our goal then, is to help students build on core skills, boost independence, and increase maturity and sophistication in reading and writing to equip them to thrive in a language-driven society. Correct placement on the progression track ensures students receive the instruction and practice that best aligns to their current ability.
